I'm not ready for Summer to end

It's nearing (but not quite) the end of August, and the same as every year, I'm not ready.  I hold tight to long summer days, the heat, the beach nights, pool, and river days. The overflowing garden, dirty toes, and the bike rides down at the school. The ice cream cones at 10AM, no schedules, fewer plans, and so much fun.  I've read 20 books in the past 3 months, sat and watched the kiddos play, and enjoyed the sunshine and I'm not ready to see that go.  Here on the coast in CT, we don't get really cold weather until the end of October and usually don't see "real" snow until January most years. But the shift will slowly start within the next few weeks, as we pull out our homeschool books, bring house plants indoors, plant our fall garden, and watch the leaves turn to red and gold.  Don't get me wrong - I love living in a state where we fully get to enjoy all four seasons.  It's just that I always really, really miss Summer.  Good thing it alway
